Keer Mewrilah《EACRP》[Mateus]
name: Kirara* Mewrilah
* 'kira-kira’ is Hingan for ‘twinkle’ (as a star) due to his slightly glowing freckles;however, he hates being called 'Kira' which sounds like a girl's nameidentity: male keeper of the moon miqo'te (Limsan born but raised in Kugane);gay but closetedvitals: 18 yo, slightly above average height (5'6"), not especially strong, but agile and can take a beating; his freckles glow brighter when nervous (especially in social situations)personality: exacting, formal/polite in the extreme, attentive, hard-working, courageous (but socially reserved);personality: somewhere in the middle ('True Neutral'), Keer is aspiring to live up to the principles of the bushido (see picture) which he had never really tried to live up to, thus moving in the direction of Lawful Good

earlier history: His parents were successful merchants who took him to Kugane where he was raised, primarily schooled by Eorzean tutors, but spent a lot of time in a local martial arts dojo where he learned swordplay (katana), unarmed combat (jiu-jitsu), and arts like music (shakuhachi) and calligraphy.Keer's father died when he was a tween, to be ransomed by some bandits, but things went wrong; he, his mother and two youngest sisters were crushed, and Keer became insufferable, especially a year later when his mother began to fall in love with another man. A couple years later, he more or less ran away from home and hung out with other lazy well-to-do youngsters in Kugane, eventually getting into trouble with the law twice and being incarcerated for brief periods.
recent history: Seeing that his teen and young adult friends either turned their lives around or headed down a dark path, Keer decided that he needed to make something of himself. He went back home and profusely apologized to his mother and step-father and explained how he wanted to head to Eorzea to become an adventurer – in Hingan culture, one is not considered an adult until 20 (called 'hatachi'), so without a shining recommendation from his instructors, there's no way he could find such work in Kugane. While he was let back into the dojo to continue training after his trouble with the law, there's no way the senseis would write such a letter. He was surprised to hear that his mother and step-father thought his plan sounded honorable and gave him a large sum of money to begin his new life. Not long after arriving in Eorzea, he heard of the Ember Adventuring Company and showed up with a letter of intent. After screening by one of the company's officers, he was hired on the spot.

origins
The Panipahr name is one of the more common of the miqo’te keepers of the moon. Those around Limsa Lominsa are one of the older families in the area — large enough that no one is clear any longer how the various families are related or when their lines diverged. Mynt was the youngest of three. His mother was primarily a housewife in his youth and his father was a Mason for the drydocks and town.

As with many other skilled workers in addition to the soldiers who went off to Cartenaux Flats, Mynt’s father also answered the call. He was one of the many who died in the battle and since Mynt had been very close to his father, the lad was crushed. In the next couple of years, he became more and more insufferable. His older brother Zumyn’a (aka ‘Zoom’) joined an early Maelstrom training program and eventually became a Yellow Jacket stationed around Limsa. His mother was never able to really recover from the loss. Mynt’s older sister, oddly also named Zumyn, has worked odd jobs with their mother since.
Mynt’s mom played something of a trick one day, and planned for she and Mynt to have an overnight trip to Limsa Lominsa. While there, they visited the Arcanists’ Guild and Mynt was left to watch some of the apprentices practice with their carbuncles as his mom went off to chat with someone in charge. Something of an impromptu aptitude test was given to Mynt and he apparently passed — Zumyn Panipahr had agreed to make Mynt a ward of the guild in the hopes that they could give him some direction in life.
He became far more self-suffifcient, but remained at odds with the other students who were almost all older than him and treated him like a child. Mynt eventually got tired of the long tedious hours of study and the Guild’s unwillingness to use the magicks he’d learned in real combat, even under supervision. He visited Ul’dah after a trip to the Gold Saucer and ended up applying to the Weavers’ and Goldsmiths’ Guilds, being taken on as a new apprentice, saying farewell to the Arcanists’ Guild and relocating to the Goldsmiths’ Guild dormitory in Ul’dah-dah.
It seemed as if Mynt had found his calling in life, using his hands to make things as his father had done before. His aesthetics left much to be desired, but he was quickly able to learn crafting techniques. He also began to express himself more by wearing skirts and other seemingly feminine attire in the more accepting craft-oriented guilds. Over the next couple of years, the guildmasters were very impressed with the speed at which Mynt improved his craft, while he remained at odds with most of his peers with his haughty attitude.
Once again tiring of the tedium of his daily life repeated weekly ad nauseum, Mynt took the bold step to apply to a free company a couple of moons past his eighteenth nameday. He had guessed that one of the larger ones would have other younger adventurers-in-training and was surprised to get hired on to the Azure Flames in Ul’dah. He was still a contracted apprentice in the Weavers’ and Goldsmiths’ guilds, however, and had to spend much of his time divided there making designs, completing projects and instructing newer apprentices.
Mynt quickly realized that trying to redouble his efforts in dusting off his limited abilities whist attempting to fulfill the necessary hours as an apprentice of two crafting guilds simply wasn’t going to cut it. With the help of his new best friend, Mina’le Keresky, a young aetherologist and junior officer of the Azure Flames free company, Mynt designed and crafted a masterwork top ensemble to try to win the guildmasters over. It worked for Serendipity, guildmaster of the Goldsmiths, who made Mynt a journeyman, giving him far more freedom time wise and the ability to take on projects for the guild and make decent money. Master Rose of the Weavers’ Guild, on the other hand, felt Mynt wasn’t ready despite his impressive abilities…
Most recently, Mynt has begun to learn Thavnairian battledance from a viera expert in his free company who has since gone missing under mysterious circumstances. He has also begun doing dance performances to accompany the expert bards at the Azure Flames’ weekly hosted events.was able to get an apartment in the company estate and set up his workshop, but he needs to work hard to pay back all of his recent debts.

| • family waylaid in the Shroud | • rescued by Keepers of the Moon | • adopted into their village |
| • taken to be a female viera | • lived a carefree childhood | • no magical talent in early teens |
| • they realized ‘she’ was a he | • fell out of favor in the village | • left village, ended up in Ul’dah |
| • Pugilists’ & Gladiators’ Guilds | • Immortal Flames reserve | • Azure Flames free company |
origins
Sitting up atop the floor pillows of the platform in the holy room, Elder Moui, the aged keeper, adjusted her new-looking white robe – the stripes of purple-blue were like swathes of lavender, and the fine silver embroidery lent credence to her position of esteem in the village. She waited for everyone to enter and find a place to sit on the floor. Alakja, then around ten summers old, was pulled into someone’s lap and snuggled, but ‘she’ wasn’t sure exactly who it was and it didn’t really matter. ‘Her’ brown ears tipped with red were being stroked and it felt calming and secure.
The elder began to speak and all other sounds within immediately shifted towards silent reverence. “This month I will tell the tale of how this young one, known to us as Alakja Rawbuwesfv, came to live among us in our village under the Moon.” Alakja opened ‘her’ eyes from surprise and anticipation – for years ‘she’ had asked how she’d come to live here among miqo’te and why she was different, and never received sufficient answers. It was hard for her to believe that the stories told here in the dark of the New Moon had never included ‘her’. Often told by other women of the village, it was rare and considered an important lesson when the Elder did the Telling.
Voice raspy with age and limbs seemingly locked in place, Elder Moui continued. “Some seven summers ago, a small group of Alakja’s people were lost in the forest. Their numbers included strong female warriors, long of ear and sharp of eye, but they were no match for the unholy power of the beasts which set upon them – black fur which absorbed the peaceful light of the Moon, talons grooves with the foulest of bile, and noses upturned showing their demonic heritage. Almost all of the mountain viera had fallen when our hunters heard their cries and descended upon their enemies, using the blessed powers of Menphina to freeze them in their tracks.
Those warriors are here with us today and include, among others, Jehrhuh Panipahr, Uvu Zunfa, and Xero Mewrilah. They are to be honored.” Her heavy eyelids slowly shut and her head lowered, looking as if she was falling asleep, but everyone else in the room did in kind and there was silence for roughly a minute.“Alakja and her aunt, Hjrn, were the only two viera to survive, but Hjrn was gravely wounded and we were too late with the light of Menphina to remedy her injuries, falling into the long dark a few days later. And though it came as pain to speak, both from the wounds and from the barrier of our languages, Hjrn knew that she was dying and asked that we looked over her niece, Alakja, whom at the time was three summers old.”
Alak was excited to hear of ‘her’ aunt Hjrn and wanted to hear more of these people, but the story shortly came to a close with the Elder commenting, “your mana should be waxing soon and the ladies of the village will help you learn the ways of Menphina, if your people have such capability.”
later history
But over the next few years, Alak showed no aptitude for the ice-aspected magic these Keepers seemed to manifest. In fact, it was when ‘she’ was around twelve or thirteen when everyone realized that Alakja was in fact a boy. His position in the village as a protected girl was quickly throw aside, and left to hang out with the boys and men who did most of the manual labor, Alakja was shunned as if he’s been hiding the truth of his gender all these years in an effort to avoid having to toil. This was not the case, but he had not the ability nor the ears of the people to explain.
The next few years in the village were depressing. No one really wanted to associate with him and his lack of any real skills made the villagers look at him like some lame pet that people had to work hard to feed. For years he tried his best to work hard and impress his usefulness upon the villagers, but it was no to avail. Finally, he stole some dried foodstuffs and made south through the Shroud, hoping to reach civilization before running afoul of dangerous creatures.
As luck would have it, he managed to make his way to the outskirts of Gridania when he ran into a small caravan of hyurs, elezen and miqo’te from the city who were transporting trade goods to outlying villages. They took him on for a few weeks and he helped tend the beasts of burden and act as a lookout with his sharp eyesight. They eventually hooked up in a port and Alakja decided to travel to Ul’dah, having been told that was the place to go to learn how to become a true warrior. He was gifted a young lesser panda to keep him company and Alakja named her Nutmeg (not only for her slightly reddish-brown fur, but also the faint scent of the herb from her moist nose).
He was scammed out of his little pocket money shortly after arriving, but one of the lalafell students of Master Hamon of the Pugilists’ Guild saved Alakja from a beating by one of the many small local gangs. Under this unlikely ally, he became a student of the Guild and later enlisted in the Immortal Flames as a reserve, getting the nod to receive additional training from the Gladiators’ Guild. A few months in, his hard work was rewarded with a license to procure a combat chocobo, but he had to continue saving for another month before making the purchase. His only option was an brightly-colored yellow male. Alakja named him Thunderhop.
Now done with his 6-month term in the Flames, he’s still on reserve if called back for war, but able to otherwise do as he pleases. Alakja had grown tired of the heat in Thanalan and the cold people of the city, and found that the area around the Goblet was far nicer. He applied to the Azure Flames free company as a bouncer and got the job despite the immeasurably soft look of the lad. Once hired, he found out that the company had recently lost their main gardener/groundskeeper and Alakja volunteered to take over, this being the only real skill he’d managed to proffer from the last few years of his childhood in the Keeper village. He inherited the former groundskeeper’s apartment and is trying to learn the ways of these adventurers.
Most recently, he’s been trying to up his game, so to speak, to be able to more effectively act as a bouncer in an establishment that attracts experienced mage and warriors alike. To this effect, he has continued his training in the Pugilists’ Guild and begun to learn the ways of Thavnairian battledance from a travelling troupe he met in Gridania, realizing that in lieu of being able to channel aether, he is gradually able to telekinetically pull back his chakrams to his grip – controlling how they fly, on the other hand, is a work in progress.
